When the visitors is referred to your website after conducting a ‘keyword search’ from a search engine, they are most likely looking for something that matches the ‘keyword search’.
It is said that the decision to whether to stay on your site or not is made in the first 3 seconds, they just check the page they land on and then closes the window if what they are looking for is not there.
The example heatmap presented below shows what the eye catches once the site has been visited. As you can see the higher up to the site your information is made available this is where the visitor will be looking.
Would be effective right? What your enticing the visitor with is that you recognise what they are looking for ‘PHOTOSHOP MOCKUP’ in big letters affirming which search engine they came from ‘Google’ and found related articles/post that may be of interest to them. This is actually what a wordpress plugin created by Thomas Silkjær, and I thought there needs to be a Joomla module that does this.
Example
Do a search google for Socioword, and click the link to this site (this site not the best of examples due to the lack of content ) you will be presented with a list of related posts right away.
Usage Instruction
Install the 'SE landing Page' as a standard joomla module.
Position the 'SE Landing page' to the most suitable position at the top portion of your Joomla Site, this is usually 'user1' position.
The title display should be set to 'no'.
